Let's #GetLoud!

May 6, 2018

TALK MORE. ASK MORE. LISTEN MORE.

1 in 5 Canadians will live with a mental health issue this year. Mental health is a part of each and every one of us. This means we are all in this together. We all have a unique story of facing adversity, which means we also all have a unique story of hope. Do More Agriculture was created with the vision of a culture in agriculture where all producers are encouraged, empowered and supported to take care of their mental well being. Breaking down the stigma that currently exists while building up a community of support and resources.

The Three Pillars of Do More Ag

1. Creating Awareness and building capacity through education, training and campaigns to help everyone understand mental health and break the stigma surrounding mental health and mental illness.

2. Building Community where people who are impacted and affected can connect with others, and find resources.

3. Supporting Research to help identify the gaps, as well as existing resources within the agricultural industry today.

This week is Mental Health Week with the Canadian Mental Health Association and #GetLoud is the campaign! We are calling on our industry to TALK MORE and #GetLoud on your social media! We can all be a part of this very important conversation that demystifies mental health.

How can you #GetLoud?

  • Use your voice. Our stories hold a powerful capacity for positive change. Find, build and utilize a support network. This can be a network of friends and family or this can be a network built in other ways, just be sure its supportive, safe and healthy. Most importantly - talk to your support network. Talk about your experiences and challenges with people you trust and support you.

  • Get on social media and join the conversation with thousands of others using the #GetLoud! Take it as a chance to look around and remember that you are not alone.

  • Check out how we #GetLoud!

#GetLoud for yourself, your family, your community, your industry - just #GetLoud.

Tell us who you will #GetLoud for on twitter - tag us in the conversation @DoMoreAg and make sure to use #GetLoud!
