News Release: Adelle Stewart to Leave as Do More Agriculture’s Executive Director

September 29, 2021

Saskatoon, SK (September 21 2021) After three years of furthering Do More Agriculture’s (Do More Ag) mission of becoming the national voice and champion of mental health in Canadian agriculture and leading the organization to sustainable growth, the Board of Directors wishes to thank Adelle Stewart for her great work as Executive Director. “During her tenure, Adelle has been a driving force behind Do More Ag’s growth and success” says Himanshu Singh, the chair of the board of Do More Ag. We thank Adelle for the last three years of dedicated service, during which she contributed to many significant accomplishments, including:

  • Making Do More Ag a model CRA registered charity in agriculture.

  • Strengthening and collaborating with over 25 partnerships with industry organizations and businesses.

  • Increasing awareness of mental health in agriculture by growing our social media platforms to over 12,000 followers and 700 email registrants and launching an annual awareness campaign the last three years that has had over 1.5 million total impressions.

  • Educating over 1000 producers in 60 communities and certifying almost 500 individuals in Mental Health First Aid through the Community Fund.

  • Growing our program offerings and resources:

    • Talk Ask Listen workshop: a 4 hour in-person or online agriculture specific mental health workshop.

    • Talk It Out: Weekly peer to peer support sessions

    • AgCulture: An agriculture mental health literacy program

    • Expanding our resource page to include a number of mental health professionals with lived-in agriculture experience and knowledge.

Under Adelle’s leadership, we have built new partnerships with businesses, industry organizations and governments across Canada. Our Talk Ask Listen workshop is in high demand and the exciting new AgCulture, an agriculture mental health literacy program is opening additional opportunities for collaboration with mental health professionals. In addition, we have created strong relationships, awareness and momentum that will aid in the future launch and delivery of AgTalk, a 24/7, agriculture specific mental health support line for all Canadian producers and their families.

Over the next several months, the Board will be conducting a thorough search to find Do More Ag’s next Executive Director. It is our priority to find a dynamic leader with a true passion for Do More Ag’s mission: To champion the mental health of all Canadian producers. Please contact us at Do More Ag if you or someone you know would consider taking on this new opportunity to further the cause for Canadian farmers and to take Do more Ag to the next level.

We are excited for many more opportunities to collaborate with industry and government to increase awareness and develop and offer programs and resources to producers across Canada. Thank you for your continued partnership and support as we champion the cause and help our Canadian producers.
